Martin Mason

- Agent

Martin was born and raised in the UK – the son of a dairy farmer and Jersey breeder.  He graduated with an Honours Degree in Agriculture (Animal Production) from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne.

He worked for a few years on the family dairy farm, where they also operated a milk retail business, before moving to Canada in 1982.  Here he was fortunate to work as a herdsman for the Sayles families of Paris, Ontario.

Martin worked 16 years for Gencor as an AI and Embryo Transfer Technician before being appointed to Regional Manager, responsible for day-to-day service in  Southwestern Ontario.

Martin joined Ayr Farmers Mutual as an Agent in August 2001.  Martin and his wife Liz have two sons who are both currently in post-secondary education.  They own and operate a small beef farm between Ayr and Paris. Martin is currently President of the Canadian Shorthorn Association and a local 4H Beef Club leader. As well as livestock breeding, some of his other interests include singing and gardening.
