At AFM, supporting the communities we're part of is at the heart of everything we do. Our annual Volunteer Appreciation & Donation Night is one of the ways we get to show it.
Celebrating Local Volunteers: AFM's 2026 Volunteer Appreciation & Donation Night
On April 22, we welcomed more than 30 organizations for our annual Volunteer Appreciation & Donation Night. It’s an evening to recognize and celebrate the work these organizations do, and the incredible people behind them.
Local Organizations Making an Impact
The groups that were in the room cover so much ground. Agricultural programs, youth sports, farm safety, community events, and more.
The evening was hosted by our Board of Directors, Brad Adams, Ed Hesselink, Cathy Formica, Dave Thompson, Dave Jamieson, Leslie Fleming, and Heather McLaughlin, who were proud to present each of the organizations with a donation.
This year we donated a total of $34,400 to thirty-four very deserving groups.

Different Missions. Same Heart.
This year's event fell during National Volunteer Week, a time dedicated to celebrating those who give so generously of their time. Hearing from each organization, learning about who they serve and why they do what they do, reminds us just how much is happening right in our own backyard. The stories were heartfelt, the gratitude was real, and the organizations in that room ignite volunteerism in a very big way.
"You are the reason our communities are worth coming home to."
AFM CEO & President Jeff Whiting said it best:
"These are individuals who consistently show up, who give their time, their energy, their evenings and weekends, because they believe in something. Whether you're raising good people, bringing communities together through sport, keeping our agricultural roots alive, or making sure there's a seat for everyone, you are the reason our communities are worth coming home to."
-Jeff Whiting, President & CEO, Ayr Farmers Mutual

Until Next Year
To every organization and volunteer who joined us, thank you. What you do for the people around you matters.
Supporting the communities we're part of and helping them thrive is at the heart of everything we do, and evenings like our Volunteer Appreciation & Donation Night are a reminder of why that matters.
