HR and Training Coordinator

The Human Resources and Training Coordinator provides essential administrative support to the Human Resources department while playing a key role in coordinating and facilitating training across the organization. This position ensures smooth day-to-day HR operations, with a focus on data management, documentation, and training initiatives that support the employee lifecycle, organizational compliance, and a positive employee experience. Hiring annual salary range: $55,000 – $65,000

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and support training across the organization, including scheduling sessions, maintaining training records, and facilitating group training where applicable.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR data, processing status changes, generating reports, and ensuring data integrity and confidentiality within our HRIS (Payworks).
  • Provide payroll administrative support serving as back-up to process bi-weekly and monthly payroll cycles.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding by coordinating job postings, interviews, background checks, and new hire onboarding logistics to ensure a smooth, positive employee experience from day one.
  • Maintain health & safety documentation and compliance tracking and provide administrative support for JHSC meetings.
  • Contribute to employee experience and communications initiatives, including recognition programs, corporate events, wellness activities, and intranet content.
  • Provide general HR administrative support, including responding to employee inquiries, coordinating meetings, and assisting with special projects as needed.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources preferred, or equivalent related experience; working towards CHRP designation is an asset.
  • 1–3 years of on-the-job experience in Human Resources.
  • Experience related to training and development or facilitation is an asset.
  • Familiarity with HR functions, concepts, and best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate policy and concepts clearly with a commitment to confidentiality.
  • Good judgment and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain performance standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Payworks an asset.
