Product & Pricing Specialist
The Product and Pricing Specialist plays a critical role in establishing, monitoring and evaluating our competitive position in the insurance market through strategic product development and pricing analysis. Working as part of our Data, Product and Pricing team, this position serves as the facilitator of our product offerings while driving market intelligence, stakeholder engagement, and implementation coordination to ensure our products remain relevant, competitive, and profitably priced.
This position is ideal for an insurance professional with strong analytical capabilities and business acumen who thrives in a dynamic environment balancing strategic analysis with stakeholder collaboration. The successful candidate will combine deep insurance knowledge with project coordination skills to influence our market positioning and financial performance through data-informed product and pricing decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor the insurance market continuously, gathering feedback from agents, brokers, and underwriters to assess our competitive position, identify product gaps, and uncover market opportunities across all lines.
- Conduct scheduled analysis of lines of business to assess competitive position, profitability trends, and product relevance.
- Identify market opportunities, evaluate product gaps, and recommend enhancements or new offerings aligned with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with external actuarial partners to develop pricing recommendations, providing necessary business context and market intelligence.
- Evaluate proposed pricing changes including financial impact, competitive implications, and potential dislocation effects.
- Provide detailed business requirements to the technical team for system implementation.
- Participate in testing of system implementations to verify intended pricing and product offering results.
- Lead development of communications and training materials about product and pricing changes for internal and external stakeholders.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Post-secondary education in a related field (or extensive relevant experience) with 3-5 years in insurance product management, underwriting, pricing, or a similar role.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of property and casualty insurance principles, products, and business processes.
- CIP designation or actively working toward completion is an asset.
- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret market data, assess competitive positioning, and identify trends that inform strategic decisions.
- Strong business acumen to evaluate financial impacts, assess profitability implications, and understand dislocation effects of pricing and product changes.
- Effective stakeholder management skills to gather and synthesize feedback from diverse groups including agents, brokers, underwriters, and external partners.
- Excellent project coordination abilities to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills for presenting complex analysis to varied audiences from technical actuarial discussions to executive-level strategic recommendations
