Rachel Lund was one of three recipients of a $3,000 scholarship in 2021. Rachel created Over the Billow to help those without someone to talk to feel they are not alone. What's a billow? It is "a large undulating mass of something." The group Over The Billow helps people to overcome the billow of anxiety in their lives.

Sophia is a third-year student at the University of Waterloo. For Sophia's application, she told us about her pen pal program to help improve seniors' mental health in her community. Ayr Farmers Mutual Insurance Company came together and stuffed 101 stockings to help 25 families in the Ayr community in conjunction with It Takes a Village Ayr.
This September we volunteered at Food for Kids helping to put together meal packages for kids in need. These meal packages are provided to families to help alleviate chronic hunger over the weekend when the kids are not in school. Food4Kids not only helps to bridge the hunger gap, but they provide balanced and nutritious meals throughout our community with the help of their volunteers and partners.
